10:00 – 10:05 Introduction & Welcome
10:05 – 10:35 Improving Cardiac Arrest Care with Technology - Presented by Ollie Zorab, Specialist Paramedic – Critical Care(HEMS), Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, SWAST & Katie McNee, Quality Improvement Paramedic, South West Ambulance Service.
Ollie and Katie will offer a brief overview of past and ongoing quality improvement projects within SWASFT that utilised technology in order to improve cardiac arrest care.
10:35 – 11:05 Pre-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Management - Presented by Dr Paul S C Rees, Consultant, Royal Navy, Barts Heart Centre and East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Paul will give an update on latest developments in resuscitation from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, including near-future endovascular techniques and the evolution of dedicated cardiac arrest centres and networks

11:15 – 11:45 Pre-Hospital Stroke Assessment - Presented by Dr Graham McClelland PhD MCPara, Paramedic Research Fellow, North East Ambulance Service.
Graham will discuss pre-hospital stroke assessment in the UK context and the direction this may be moving in.
11:45 – 12:30 Everything You Wanted to Know About Pulse Oximetry, But Were Afraid to Ask - Presented by Paul Cornick, Masimo UK.
This session will begin by covering what pulse oximetry is and how it works, types of pulse oximetry probes, issues around their use and pitfalls to look out for, issues of performance during motion and low perfusion, and how Masimo overcomes these, with tips for ensuring good performance.

13:00 – 13:30 Review of Paramedic Medicines Legislation - Presented by Andy Collen FCPara, Consultant Paramedic, SECAmb
An overview of the legal mechanisms associated with medicines used in paramedic practice. The aim of the session is to refresh knowledge on these mechanisms and to build confidence in practice.
13:30 - 14:00 Statewide Implementation of the EMS Guidelines: The EPIC Initiative - Presented by Dr Lesley Osborn MD The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston 
Pre-hospital interventions in the care of traumatic brain injured patients has the potential to improve survival severely injured TBI patients. Emphasis should be placed on close monitoring to drive prevention of hypoxia, hypotension, and hyperventilation

Do I need a Zoom account to attend the event?
No you do not need a Zoom account to attend the event. When you are ready to join please click the link emailed to you and follow the instructions.

What if I am late or only want to attend a later session?
The link will be valid for the whole of the event so you can join the meeting as soon as you are ready. This will not disturb the presenter.

Will I be seen during the event?
The event will be recorded so we can put the sessions on our CPD hub. Zoom will pick up some of the audience on the screen so you may be recorded. If you do not want to be recorded please ensure your camera is off.

How do I see the main presenter during the event?
Please ensure your view is set to ‘speaker view’. This setting can be found in the top right corner of your screen.

Will I have an opportunity to ask questions?
We will have the chat function available so you can type questions to our chat monitors during the sessions. If your question is not chosen we are hoping to get answers to all of the questions after the event and place them on the College website. Due to the large number of attendees we request that you stay on mute during the whole event.

Will I receive a CPD certificate?
Your member profile will be automatically populated with your CPD certificate after the event.
