Minor Wound Closure Skills
1 day minor wound closure course covering tissue adhesive, paper sutures, suturing technique. Ideal for health professionals (primarily Paramedics and Nurses) working in emergency and urgent care, event and remote medicine.
Using animal specimens students will get a realistic and practical understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to appropriately manage patients with minor wounds.
This interactive and engaging 1 day CPD course will cover:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Approach to wound assessment
- Local anaesthetic infilltration
- Wound closure techniques (glue, steristrips, interrupted suture)
- Tetanus and antibiotic prophylaxis.
